FREDERICK, MD (May 1, 2008) - GTI Federal (GTI) is proud to announce that Kristen Blanchard has been promoted to Director of Marketing at GTI Federal. Ms. Blanchard has been with GTI since October 2007 as Executive Assistant to GTI’s President and CEO, Mark Gaver.
In this new position Ms. Blanchard will be in charge of all aspects of Marketing for GTI Federal. This will include design, implementation, and facilitating an annual marketing plan to enhance communications, corporate identity, and business development.

FREDERICK, MD (March 27, 2008) - The Tech Council of Maryland (TCM), Frederick County Network presented GTI Federal’s President and CEO, Mark Gaver, with the Executive of the Year award at the 6th Annual Frederick County Technology Awards Dinner held on March 26, 2008. This award was given based on merits of exceptional leadership, and outstanding dedication and commitment to his customers, employees and the Frederick community.“I learned early on when I began this business that if I take care of my employees, they will take care of our customers, and that commitment has made GTI successful,” said Mark Gaver after he accepted the award.

This year’s recipient is Okatthong Mekhagnomdara who is tasked to the Department of Energy Web Support Team.Mark Gaver, President and CEO of GTI Federal, presented Mr. Mekhagnomdara the award and a travel voucher to take a well-earned vacation.

FREDERICK, MD (March 1, 2008) – GTI Federal is proud to announce the promotion of Marian Carter to Vice President of Energy Programs at GTI Federal. Mrs. Carter joined GTI Federal five years ago as a Program Manager.
In this new position Mrs. Carter will oversee all Department of Energy (DOE) programs in which GTI has Information Technology support contracts. This includes DOE offices such as: Office of Health, Safety, and Security (HSS), Office of Chief Information Officer (OCIO), and the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE). In addition, she will become more involved in developing business opportunities for GTI.
Mrs. Carter brings 26 years of experience supporting various DOE clients, five of which were with GTI Federal.

FREDERICK, MD (January 25, 2008) -GTI Federal (GTI) was recently awarded the U.S. Army Medical Research Materiel Command (USAMRMC) Support Services contract to provide services to the command’s headquarters at Fort Detrick, Maryland. The multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (ID/IQ) contract will extend over the next five years. This contract vehicle will provide services for USAMRMC’s administration, coordination, and management of the Medical Research, Development and Acquisition (RDA), logistics, and medical materiel sustainment programs at USAMRMC.
GTI Federal has teamed with other local partners including; L1Enterprises (a Service-Disabled-Veterans Owned Small Business), Sycamore.US, Engineering Systems Solutions, Inc., ASRC Airfield and Range Services, Inc., and Science Applications International Corporations (SAIC), to provide support services under this contract.

FREDERICK, MD (September 29, 2007) – GTI Federal (GTI) announces it has been awarded a contract under the Department of Energy’s Office of Technology Advancement and Outreach (OTAO) to develop, enhance, and maintain the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) website pages. Under this contract GTI will perform tasks such as: conducting usability studies, managing existing and new website content, and incorporating new media instruments such as videocasts, podcasts, and blogs. GTI’s objective is to increase usability of EERE web pages and to ensure EERE’s image, message, and overall branding is clear and consistent.
FREDERICK, MD (August 13, 2007) - GTI Federal (GTI) was recently awarded a contract to support the U.S. Army Garrison, Fort Detrick Directorate of Information Management (DOIM). GTI will provide the Fort Detrick DOIM with various Tier I and Tier II Information Technology services such as; help desk, desk-side support, video teleconferencing, and photographic support. More than 3,000 users from three principle agencies and 28 limited support agencies located at Fort Detrick will be using services under this contract.
The Government Services Administration (GSA) has exercised the option on GTI Federals contract on its Advertising and Integrated Marketing Solutions (AIMS) schedule. The schedule provides a streamline process for agencies seeking companies to educate the public through outreach programs using web and graphic design, media campaigns, marketing solutions, and advertising services. The contract has been extended through 2011. Jeff Arendt, V.P. Corporate Development, said, "GTI is honored to be able to continue to support Federal agencies through this valuable contract vehicle."
GTI Federal today announced promotions for three of its employees on the Department of Energy (DOE) project. Marian Carter who formerly led the Web Team was promoted to Deputy Program Manager. Oki Mekhagomdara worked as a web developer and is now the Web Team Lead. Marita Emperado was a Portal Developer and has been promoted to Project Team for development.

In addition he is responsible for Special Projects, the most recent includes the writing and publication for ATF's System Life Cycle Handbook (SLC).Mr. Kolodny will receive a travel voucher to take a well-earned vacation.

Today GTI Federal announced it begins pursuit of the Capability Maturity Model Accreditation (CMMI). Developed by Carnegie Mellon's Software Engineering Institute (SEI), the process allows organizations a systematic approach to effective process. The method can be used from task to task or for whole companies. According to their website, "CMMI helps integrate traditionally separate organizational functions, set process improvement goals and priorities, provide guidance for quality processes, and provide a point of reference for appraising current processes."Jeff Arendt, Vice President of Corporate Development, said, "by obtaining this recognized accreditation, our clients are assured of better products through our use of repeatable processes, and a consistent higher level of quality."
GTI Federal announced today that it has been selected as a State of Maryland Consulting and Technical Services (CATS) Master contractor. This vehicle streamlines the process for the State to procure IT consulting and technical services. Under this program GTI Federal will offer a wide range of technical services including Program Management, Quality Assurance, and Applications Development.David Harmon, GTI Federal Vice President said, "the CATS award provides the State access to GTI Federal information technology expertise, allowing the State to achieve it's mission while saving tax payer money."
GTI awarded contract with HHS to provide Configuration Management
GTI Federal today was awarded a contract to support the Health and Human Services (HHS) division of Health Resource and Services Administration (HRSA), Office of Information Technology. GTI Federal will provide Configuration Management (CM) and Emerging Technology support. The task will address CM for both hardware and software and also ensure that OIT's functional areas are following a defined process.

Frederick, MD (November 6, 2005) - Dave Swope who completed in the hotly contested wheelchair division of this year's Marine Corp Marathon placed second. Congratulation Dave. Mr. Swope got a big assist from GTI Federal by sponsoring him and covered all the expenses for the purchase of a new racing wheelchair. The technology on the new chair provides improved aerodynamic and ergonomics making it better suited for longer distances.
Mr. Swope, who works for Harris-Smariga and Associates, was leading the events category at the 23 mile mark when he ran into an able-bodied runner. The accident caused some damage to one of the wheels slowing his progress. Swope's finishing time was 2:22:53."I don't know how it happened," said Dave, "I knew I just had a couple of more miles to go and wanted to have a strong finish. I had my head down and was really concentrating hard when I ran into the other runner. I'm sure he was as surprised as I was. But I would really like to thank Mark Gaver (President and CEO) at GTI Federal. His generous gift allows me compete on a higher level."
FREDERICK, MD (April 14,2005) - GTI Federal (GTI) announced today that David Harmon has joined the company as Vice President of Application Development. Mr. Harmon will be responsible for directing and managing GTI's application development practice area and institutionalizing organizational best practices for application development such as CMMI and PMI. Most recently, Mr. Harmon was with InfoPro Incorporated in McLean, Virginia where he served as Director of Network Services. Prior to InfoPro, Mr. Harmon held several positions at RESI - Towson University including Director of Business Technology and Data Warehouse Group Leader."David brings a proven history of providing IT solutions to the government. Scott Wessinger joined GTI Federal in February 2005 to lead our Defense Programs Division. As a businessman, Scott has achieved considerable success in small and large businesses focused on providing professional services to Department of Defense and other Federal Government customers. His experience includes executive-level management of government sector programs related to information technology, acquisition and logistics, management consulting and IDIQ program management.Scott is a veteran, and continues to serve as a lieutenant colonel in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. During his career in the Marine Corps, he gained experience through command and staff assignments at every level through the unified command level in the United States, Europe, Asia, and Southwest Asia, recently completing a tour of duty as the Commanding Officer, 4th Combat Engineer Battalion. His career focused on combat engineer and logistics operations, and operational planning.
Scott holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Carolina, and has advanced training in software engineering and program management. He also holds diplomas from Marine Corps Command and Staff College and Naval War College, where he studied expeditionary warfare operations and international security affairs.

GTI Federal provides support to the Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives
Frederick, MD - September 1, 2004 GTI Federal and the Project Performance Corporation (PPC), has been awarded a contract with the Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). The team will be supporting the Information Services Divisions (ISD), which requires Product Assurance support services to help improve productivity of the ISD's employees. Both companies will provide expertise in Configuration Management, Quality Assurance, IV&V Testing, and Data Management.
