NFA

National Fire Academy (NFA) is a part of the U.S. Fire Administration (USFA), which has educated almost 1.5 million fire prevention and control professionals since its opening in 1975. As an entity of the Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency, the mission of the USFA is to provide national leadership to foster a solid foundation for our fire and emergency services stakeholders in prevention, preparedness, and response.

The large campus of the USFA is equpped with a top-of-the-line Learning Resource Center that boasts the largest collection of fire service literature in the United States, as well as journals and collections covering all facets of disaster prevention and control. This library and all of its collections are available to the public free of charge online.

The top priority of the NFA and USFA is to protect communities by educating and properly training local fire personnel. The courses designed by the USFA are helping leaders in the fire community to develop andimprove their services and educate the public in an effort to prevent fires and all types of disasters.

The USFA campus has 107 acres and is home not only to the NFA and USFAk but also the Emergency Management Institution (EMI), the Preparedness Section of the FEMA Acquisition Operations Branch, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF), and the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial. The NFFF was formed in 1992 by the U.S. Congress with the purpose of remembering and honoring fallen firefighters from all over the nation.

Each October the NFFF hosts the Memorial Weekend event that honors each of the firefighters that lost their lives that year. The weekend allows all friends and family members, or "survivors," to grieve and share their experiences with fellow survivor.

GTI Federal and our employees play key rolls in supporting the mission of this critical agency, through graphics, publications support, administrative support and skilled professionals who creatively prepare course materials and classroom support materials.

Our goal is to assist the National Fire Academy in preparing the next general of Fire Prevention professionals and to ensure the success of the Academy.

GTI Federal proudly supports the activities and programsof the NFA and salutes those who put their lives on the line to save others.
