GTI Federal today announced the appointment of Cynthia Marsden as President succeeding acting President John McElrath. In this role, Ms. Marsden will lead the company forward and have responsibility for expanding the companies’ footprint by focusing on strategic planning, business development, mergers and acquisitions and providing leadership and oversight for the entire company.  “Cynthia was identified by GTI Management during an extensive industry search as a leader who has success in leading and growing companies as well as extensive M&A experience.  Her focus on leading and growing people fits right into our culture. We are extremely fortunate to add a talent like Cynthia to our team” said Mark Gaver CEO.

Ms. Marsden brings extensive experience leading organizations both private and public in finance, operations, and M&A. She will work with government and commercial information technology companies in client facing roles responsible for accelerating market expansion and driving overall business performance while strengthening relationships with clients and employees.

 Most recently with Carl Marks Advisory Services, LLC, Ms. Marsden has had a 20+ year career with former Electronic Data Systems (EDS) in a variety of executive leadership roles. Her past positions included Vice President and Program Manager for the NMCI Program. She also served as Group CFO for the company’s global General Motors and US Public Sector organizations.  Ms. Marsden has participated in a variety of business panels across the DC area and has been featured in several technical publications.

Ms. Marsden is a current a member of Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS),  Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA),  Small and Emerging Contractor Advisory Forum (SECAF) and  as well as a past member of the Rochester, New York  Chamber of Commerce  and the Detroit Economic Club.

She holds a B.A. in Computer Science and Economics from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan and an MBA from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.
